Australian police have called off the search for a four-year-old who has been lost in the wilderness for approximately several weeks, after additional attempts proved unsuccessful to discover any signs of the child.

Gus Lamont was spotted engaging outside his home on a isolated rural property close to Yunta, about 186 miles from Adelaide, on 27 September.

His grandmother stepped away for about thirty minutes before looking for him, only to discover the child gone, triggering one of the largest comprehensive searches in local past.
