Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Police say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Police then located numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report initial examinations indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for information.
An important representative said the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
